Attunement: Embodying the Cosmic Love Within Us

When cosmic awareness is lost it is a long climb back. We have to put one foot in front of another until some altitude is gained. There is movement from level to level so that what has been a ceiling for us becomes the new floor. So there is a climbing and building on what has been before. This is true at every level—for the individual, for a body of people and for all humanity.

From a higher vantage point, perhaps we can appreciate that all the climbing and building will not get us to where we rightly belong. It is a vital part of the process but, of itself, insufficient. Cosmic awareness has to descend into our humanity to be experienced.

The Bhagavad Gita, an ancient Sanskrit scripture, brings perspective to what is necessary to regain cosmic perspective. It is the story of Krishna, who represents the God-self, and the warrior prince Arjuna. Krishna is the driver of a chariot led by white steeds. The chariot was often used in ancient writings to portray the process of conscious evolution. The chariot, itself, is a symbol for our humanity; a metaphor for the vehicle of incarnation. This same imagery is used in the story of Elijah, who ascends into heaven on a flaming chariot—the origin of the title of the movie Chariots of Fire. Today, unlike ancient times, the chariot is a not-so-familiar metaphor. To us, perhaps the phrase Ferraris of Fire might conjure a more recognizable image, while losing some of its sacred significance.

When consciousness has dropped so that cosmic perspective is lost, a person’s thoughts and emotions are embedded in the experience of the vehicle of incarnation—the chariot. And it is understandable that it seems like the whole point is for the chariot to rise to some other level of experience. That certainly is part of what needs to happen. But the larger picture is that the God-self, symbolized by Krishna, is present. That reality was present before incarnation, is present now during incarnation, and is present after incarnation. That reality created the chariot in the first place.

This may seem to be a hopeful statement, a spiritual or perhaps even religious statement. However, it is a statement of absolute fact. The cosmic intelligence and power within you raised up the substance of your chariot. And if it raised up the substance of your chariot, it must have been present before that raising up. It is present now, because without that cosmic intelligence and cosmic power, the human form droops and fades and becomes of little meaning and value.

In April and early May of this year, we are holding three Attunement Retreats:

Sunrise Ranch
Loveland, Colorado
April 12 to 14

Glen Ivy Center
Corona, California
April 26 to 28

Edenvale
Abbotsford, British Columbia
May 3 to 5

In these retreats we will be deepening our experience of attunement with the Krishna reality within us—that very source of love and life and wisdom that is at our core. This is an energetic and a feeling experience. When we are in a state of attunement with our deepest reality, it feels good, it feels right. It opens us up. The world looks different. We can feel the power of life surging within us in a different way—unconflicted, not at odds with itself, so there is peace inside. But that energetic experience is connected to a conscious experience. For us as human beings, our attunement is found not only through intuition and feeling. It involves a conscious choice to attune.

Most of our experience as human beings is below the level of conscious awareness. But there is a level that is conscious. That conscious level is the tip of an iceberg. But what happens in that apex point of experience is critical, because the conscious choice to attune influences all of the unconscious levels of experience.

It is the genius of the attunement technology that it is not only an energy medicine practice, a practice in which the practitioner or the server brings healing energy through the hands to another person, but it is also a consciousness practice. The genius is the identification of conscious choice points related to the whole attunement pattern. There is a magnificent technology to our incarnational vehicle that is steered by conscious choice wired into the endocrine glands.

The intention of the practice of attunement is to awaken in the individual the conscious awareness that we are far more than an aspect of the chariot. We are far more than a particular feeling state or a particular belief or a particular way that we have of being in the world that we call a personality. The ultimate goal of the practice of attunement is to step into the mastery of Krishna, the God-self, because there is no other place from which there could be mastery. When we are consciously aware of that eternal reality, we are masters of our chariot.

Did you ever try to be a master of experience from the perspective of a feeling state? How did that work? Not very well, I suspect. Or have you tried to be a master of the human experience because you adopted a particular belief that you applied to your own life and to everyone else’s? How did that work? I have noticed that often the people with the strongest intellectual beliefs have the least mastery of their lives. For me personally, I learned as a young man that my intellect, while a worthy tool in the toolbox, did not deserve to be master of my experience. Nor could it be.

The Ferrari is best driven by the driver. We would not give over the driving of the Ferrari to the steering wheel or the clutch or the brake. Mastery in human experience is easy when the level of consciousness that is doing the driving is above the level of the vehicle. Above everything that is going on in the human experience. But that is not what is happening for most people. There are thoughts and emotions bubbling up out of the human experience that are seizing control; the car is lurching to one side of the road or another, and it’s lucky if it isn’t hitting something or someone.

Here is the invitation to these spring retreats, Attunement: Embodying the Cosmic Love Within Us:

The invitation…

To deepen the experience of attunement

To touch the deep core of your own loving heart

To access the healing power within you

To develop enlightened understanding of attunement practice

This will be an opportunity to join with gifted teachers and practitioners, and people from many backgrounds who have an interest in Attunement. We will share the wisdom of people who are pioneers in the field. And together we will create a circle of uplifting, healing energy that will build through the retreat.

Attunement is:

  • An energy medicine practice that assists people to access the healing power within them
  • An experience of feeling and expressing from our deepest core
  • A profound teaching for the spiritual regeneration of humanity

So these are going to be wonderful times of retreat and generation, wonderful times of attunement. Of course, we don’t have to wait for a retreat to have this experience. Attunement occurs based on a very simple principle: response to the attuning vibration, which is heard and oriented to by every aspect of who we are. We have to receive it for it to be experienced. Our humanity is made that way, just as the chariot was meant to be driven by Krishna.

What a grace-filled moment it is when one discovers that this is the only real choice there is and chooses love. What a grace-filled incarnation it is when one consistently chooses to let the Master of Love within have the driver seat.

As I see it, this is the gospel, the good news. I was made to let love reign and express and for no other reason. So was the rest of the human race. When I ignore this how I droop and lose our my meaning. When I remember this and attune always to the wonder of One Who Dwells within each of us, things lighten up, plump up and balance returns. Then I can say, “What was all the fuss about?”

It’s good to do this with you and with the increasing numbers of those who are with you.

Blessings!
