The Victory Cry of Being

Here we are, a symphony of unique selves in the magic of being members of the Family of Souls. We are in a process of remembering who we are individually as unique selves and who we are together as a family of unique selves, with untold others who are part of this family.

At 3:00 today, there will be about 140 people in the Green Ridge Room at Sunrise Ranch for Our Neighbors’ Faith, a program we are hosting in cooperation with Colorado State University and the Fort Collins Interfaith Council.

We just completed the annual in-person session of the Trustees of Emissaries of Divine Light. We enjoyed a profound time together. Starting Tuesday night, we are holding our annual Servers Council with about 70 people in person and online. So, there is a lot transpiring at many levels.

To some of the readership of this Pulse of Spirit, the word focalization is familiar—to others, not so much. As I use the word, it applies to us as human beings. It involves a concentration of creative power so that it can find embodiment and expression in the world. There is infinite power in the universe, but for it to have meaning here in our lives, it has to come to focus so that it can be expressed and embodied in the human world by people.

The word focalization also has the implication that among us as human beings attempting to accomplish anything—and in this case, people bringing an uplifting, transformative healing impact into the world—there has to be a concentration of our energies into one place. That’s true with respect to anything that we as human beings seek to accomplish. If a group of people are running around, scattered in different directions without concentrating their energies, they are not likely to accomplish much. So, the principle of focalization allows us to bring our energies together. I’ve often thought that if there was a way to do that without me being involved to bring it to focus, that would be great. Maybe it will all vibrate into place. But it doesn’t work that way. The process of focalization requires the active participation of people.

For any of the things that we’re looking to achieve collectively, there has to be some way of bringing the essence and potential of that achievement to focus in somebody. And then the rest of us have got to be okay with that. And more than being okay with it, there has to be active participation and support. You go, you go, I’m with you. How can I contribute?

So many people I know are bringing to focus such great things. And that’s what I say. You go, you go, I’m behind you, I’m with you. I’m helping you to the degree that I can in practical ways. Whether it’s Bruce’s art, Brooke’s tree trimming, or Cheyne leading the Australian Emissary Board, it’s endless. You go. I’m with you.

Jesus had this wonderful saying that where two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father. That word agree was translated from a Greek word that speaks of something that is harmonious, and agreeing in sound. When there’s a sounding together harmoniously among people who are letting Creation come to focus, it’s done. We are here to have that experience.

We live in a human culture where people attempt to focalize things. They seek to lead other people to create something. Often there is a key ingredient missing. It’s missing because of the psychic break in humanity that divorced humanity from an awareness of who we are individually and collectively. So, you have a culture in which that is the prevailing dynamic, though things are beginning to shift in that regard. But nonetheless, in world culture, it is the prevailing dynamic. And so, there is an attempt to concentrate power and accomplish something without respect to selfhood. That’s ugly. When people attempt to bring something together in a body of people without respect to the selfhood of the people involved and with a vacancy of their own selfhood as a creator being, there is ignorance and oppression. And it’s an abomination.

We had meditations on this matter as Trustees. It went deep. And I would recommend that for anyone or any group of people: meditate on the joy of the experience of focalization that is founded upon an experience of Selfhood within the Family of Souls. Think about what it means to come together in the context of honoring the selfhood of yourself and others. There’s no focalization without that, because focalization has to do with the self. Creation is focalized through selfhood—not human selfhood, not human personality, and certainly not human ego. That’s not what we’re talking about. We’re talking about coming into a remembrance of who we are as Creator Beings—who we are as a Soul Family. Then it is easy to allow the powers of Creation that are in our hands as Creator Beings to come to focus and to harmonize and be like a symphony in that harmonization.

I had a personal experience of these things recently. I reflected upon the great compulsion I have felt throughout my life to know and express myself, and to be of service in the world. I thought about how often who I am and what I am doing in the world has been ignored by others, as many people experience. The question came up in me, Do you know who I am? And still, I’ve continued on my life path, without stopping because of what others did or didn’t do.

I had sense enough not to ask anyone else to answer that question. I answered it for myself. I know who I am. Reflecting on these things, the urge to be even more fully myself—to transparently express and embody who I am in the world—came into me stronger than ever.

I share this not to ask that you acknowledge me. I share it because you may have a parallel experience. And perhaps my experience affirms the significance of who you are as a Creator Being and encourages you to be yourself in the world as fully as you are able to now.

There is joy when you focalize the factors of Creation through yourself in a field that is coming to focus in you. What a joyful thing when that is happening among us, when there is a knowledge of and an honoring of true selfhood. And without that awareness of selfhood at a high level, can you think of a terrible enough word to describe the experience? It’s an abomination when someone attempts to control other people and make things happen without respect to universal selfhood, the selfhood of the Family of God.

It is an easy matter when it’s allowed to work out as it should, when there is an awareness of who we are individually and who we are together.

I don’t think we have the illusion that we who read this Pulse of Spirit are the totality of Selfhood. To start with, there is the entire body of humanity. But more than that, there’s the Selfhood of the entire Family of Souls throughout the cosmos. We are not acting in isolation from that Reality. We are just acknowledging that we are here for a reason in this field, however you would describe it. This must be our patch. We have the honor of being trusted by the universe to be here and create in this patch. And then we look back at the universe and say, Yes, we’re doing this for you. We’re doing it for our entire cosmic Soul Family. We’re taking care of our patch.

We are part of the Family of God relative to this planet. That family isn’t just the incarnate ones. When we leave our human form, it’s not as if we just vaporize. We become part of what indigenous people call the ancestors—those souls who may have incarnated but are not incarnate right now. But that doesn’t mean they don’t exist. The Self is eternal. For us now, we have the joy of being manifest in form, which gives us certain advantages and capabilities. We move in the physical world and enjoy it.

I’ve been speaking of focalization in the context of achieving, and that tends to be foremost in the awareness of world culture, especially Western culture. But focalization also relates to a state of being. And when that state of being is known and embraced in oneself, and the beingness of others is known and embraced, there is the joy of being, and in that joy, there is the victory cry of being, the victory cry of achievement.

I felt that victory cry in our Trustee sessions. Life, and life more abundantly; wonders known, forming in our creative field because we allow the powers of Creation to come to focus as they want to—in and through us individually and collectively.

As conscious beings, we all get to do this together. So good to do it with you.
