There are terrible reports in the news from the Middle East and elsewhere. As Jesus put it, there are wars and rumors of wars.
I think of a story a dear friend of many of us, Gary Goodhue, tells. Gary is one of the few people I’ve ever met who enjoyed doing direct sales door-to-door at one time in his life. If you know Gary, you could totally picture it. Here is my version of the story.
At one point, he was selling pizza. And he found a line that worked in every situation: That’s why I’m here. He would go and knock on the door, and the resident would tell him how much they love pizza and were eager to order some. “That’s why I’m here,” he would respond. And then he would tell them about the pizza he was promoting.
Or there could be some kind of objection that the person had. Perhaps they said they were looking for healthier alternatives. And again he’d say, “That’s why I’m here.” He would go on to tell them about the non-gluten crust that was available from the pizza shop.
Gary introduced this statement as having a broader application in life. And so it is with all the facets of life. With all that is transforming at Edenvale, That’s why I’m here. With an awareness of what is happening in the Middle East, That’s why we are here.
I was reflecting on personal inadequacy. I imagine most people feel that from time to time. There are the inadequacies that are part of some kind of personal limitation. But then there’s simply the inadequacy that we’re not meant to be everything that is needed for our world, even the immediate world in which we live. In that sense, we are inadequate. And if we are eager for that world to thrive, don’t we have to live with that inadequacy? We can’t be the whole answer for our world, as much as we might like to. We can be all of who we are supposed to be, but not necessarily all that the field of creative endeavor needs.
The more heroic of us might try to be. I think of you, Karlina (van der Weij). Karlina is a heroic person, and yet inadequate for the task of accomplishing all that needs to be done here at Edenvale, not because of a personal limitation. It’s just that one woman can’t run all of Edenvale. Other people have to show up. Other people have to join the project for it to fulfill its destiny, and those who are here have to show up for the thriving of Edenvale.
Caring about the overall project, it is glorious to see people show up. I suppose if you were operating on an ego basis, you might think that someone new was diminishing or diluting your own stature in some way. I think if we are really interested in what’s being created, we are not driven that way. I don’t imagine that’s what Karlina is thinking if somebody comes down the driveway. She’s probably thinking, Oh, wonderful! There’s somebody here to assist with what needs to be done. That’s true in the practical. There are all kinds of physical things that need doing. And around here, we think of Kevin (Kroetz) as Mr. Practical.
So, there is that range of things, not to be underestimated. And then there is what we could call the spiritual stature that is needed in the field in which we function. Pillars of the temple. Any field needs pillars of the temple—the tall trees that hold up the atmosphere of a place and create the vault of heaven on earth in human experience.
Edenvale needs pillars of the temple. Emissaries of Divine Light need pillars of the temple.
When I see people standing straight and tall, proud and strong, bringing spiritual stature into the space, I think, What could be better than that? What could be better than to witness it, and to glory in it when it shows up in another person?
Certainly, from a practical perspective, we can’t do it all individually. And then, from a vibrational perspective, we can’t do it all. We cannot be it all. We’re not meant to be it all, any of us.
We can be ourselves. We can be all that we are meant to be, courageously and audaciously, purely and openly. We can let the rain fall for us, and let it penetrate our humanity. We can show up that way. We can be ourselves.
Perhaps in that process, we find ourselves filling in as best we can in our creative field. But at the end of the day, what is the hope for the field? Is it not that others will show up as well to be themselves? And how do you feel when you see that? Aren’t you filled with amazement? I could never do that! We could never really do what another person does. We couldn’t be them. For myself, I end up gazing at a person, astonished at the stature they’re bringing into the world and the gifts they bring to the field.
We had many creative sessions at Edenvale in what we are calling AGM Week—the week of our Annual General Meeting, which was held yesterday. This included two Attunement sessions. We took a deep dive to explore the Spirit of the Single Eye. It was good to go to depth so that we didn’t find ourselves just skipping on the surface of things.
I found myself reflecting on the field in which we operate as Attunement Servers. It is a field of consciousness and of energy. In the practice of Attunement, the energy part of it has emphasized itself. We call the human energy field pneumaplasm. It’s the auric field that is individual to each of us, and yet it is a field we share.
But there is another dimension, which is consciousness. In the auric field, energy and consciousness are intermingled. The energy of the field is responsive to consciousness. We know how our personal energy field becomes activated as our consciousness is inspired by greater levels of awareness. We feel the joy of the spirit of life moving through our energy field. Our energy field is responsive to consciousness. It’s somehow intermingled with it. It’s a remarkable thing when you really stop to appreciate it.
The collective energy field works the same way. Consciousness determines how the energy moves in that field all the time. In some cases, conscious awareness is flowing harmoniously between people, and the energy of enthusiasm, joy, and creativity is following along with it. And then, as I put it in the Pulse of Spirit last week, all too often, there is the bumper car experience. There is a lack of mutual understanding and appreciation, and so the energy is bouncing around all over the place, undermining the creativity that is the potential of the field.
The Middle East has been like that this week. The nations involved are sharing a fractured state of consciousness that is creating a fractured energy field. Inevitably, that manifests as physical conflict, and in this case, war.
That’s why I’m here. We are bringing something else. As Attunement Servers, we are not here to villainize the people involved. They’re all doing that already. We are bringing a different kind of awareness. It is an awareness of the higher reality and purpose that is the basis for harmony and oneness between all people. That awareness has apparently been lost by those involved. Nonetheless, there is something beautiful, strong, and right in every last one of them. There’s love in their hearts. And yet there is a process in consciousness that is creating destruction.
In the Spirit of the Single Eye, we see past that destruction and bring a different awareness. And, therefore, there’s a shift of energy as that’s present. The human energy field responds to consciousness. It’s a remarkable thing.
Not just related to the Middle East, but related to any field that we’re in, and particularly the fields that are closest to us, the question becomes this: How strong is our consciousness? Faced with whatever human culture gets up to, how strong is our consciousness in the face of that? Do we say, That’s why I’m here? Or do we become paralyzed by what’s going on?
I was taught something years ago that is relevant. It is a one-sentence statement. The elders in the circle have to disbelieve. We see what people are getting up to. We can see what’s happening in the Middle East. But, in some sense, we don’t believe it. We don’t believe that that’s true of them. We don’t believe that’s going to last. Obviously, it’s not. It is ultimately self-destructive.
We see something else. We believe in who we are as human beings—who we are individually, and who we are together.
To do the work of an Attunement Server, it takes a strong-minded person. Facing an erratic, chaotic energy field, we have to have the ability to hold steady consciously ourselves and allow for a conscious flow—an unfoldment of creative thought and feeling that affects the energy field, beginning with our own personal field.
The way this works is that not only is the energy field responsive to consciousness, consciousness is responsive to the energy field. That’s an important part of the basis for giving an Attunement. When a person comes for the Attunement, something is happening in their energy field. But that’s not all that’s happening. And if it is, we’re not going very far. The person is not going very far, because they’re just going to keep thinking the same things, feeling the same things, and staying in the same state of consciousness. And that consciousness will continue to erode their energy field. Fortunately, the way this works is that when there’s a change in the energy field for a person, they walk out of that room, and life looks different. The change in the pneumaplasm changes consciousness. Then their consciousness can keep shifting their pneumaplasm.
As Attunement Servers, we are not psychotherapists. So we are not trying to sort out people’s psyches. But what we know is that in offering the Attunement, where there’s a shift in the substance, the psyche changes. Human consciousness changes.
I imagine that for a psychotherapist, it’s hard work if you cannot help the person to let the field of energy shift. Unless the psychotherapist can get that person to generate a new pattern of pneumaplasm, they can try to sort out what’s in the subconscious, but the lines of force that are in the pneumaplasmic pattern have to change for the experience to change.
If we are counseling someone, isn’t that the goal? The goal is to allow the patterns in the auric field to shift, knowing that that depends on consciousness, and at the same time, it affects consciousness. It’s all part of one field.
This is how Jesus charged his disciples to bring shifts to the auric field of people to whom they ministered:
Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.
And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost.
John 20:21, 22
I feel like there’s so much more to say and to share. I think I want to end by simply celebrating this week, celebrating Edenvale, celebrating Emissaries of Divine Light, British Columbia, celebrating this field, particularly the people in this room. This field is being reborn.
