If you walk out into Eden Valley at Sunrise Ranch, the stones tell a story. There are slabs of red sandstone lying on their side, thrusting out into the valley, forming the rimrock. It’s remarkable. What happened? And it’s not just here. Throughout the American Southwest, there’s evidence of amazing activity. There is the Grand Canyon. But it’s not just the Grand Canyon. There are many places throughout Colorado, Utah, Nevada, and Arizona, where you see evidence of something that changed the geology of this area. In many places around the world, the topsoil, vegetation, and forests cover over the underlying geology of the region. Here it’s exposed.
There are two ways to explain the dramatic rock formations visible around the world and especially in the Southwest. They could be caused by a whole lot of time and a little bit of water. That is usually how the Grand Canyon is explained. Or they could be caused by a little bit of time and a whole lot of water.
There are ancient stories from around the world that tell that latter story. We know it in Western culture as the Flood. But it’s not just us. You go around the world, east and west, north and south, and there are ancient stories of a catastrophic flood—a whole lot of water in a little bit of time.
Martin Cecil gave a talk years ago that he entitled The Vibrational Ark. And then Grace Van Duzen wrote a book that is the history of Emissaries of Divine Light up to the point of Martin’s passing and used that phrase from Martin as the title of her book, The Vibrational Ark. She described this spiritual community, but it wasn’t just about this community. Nonetheless, Emissaries of Divine Light has been, to whatever degree, a vibrational ark. And what would that be? An ark is a place of safety in the middle of a storm.
There needs to be a safe space within the storm, within the world as it is, to preserve the sanctity, integrity, and well-being of what is true about us as human beings. There is an individual component to that. Growing up, we must learn that in some way. And perhaps it’s a lifelong learning. The world hasn’t become a peaceful place over my lifetime. I was just hearing the numbers in the death toll in Ukraine. They’re tragic. That’s just one example of the strife our world is experiencing. Near and far, there is a flood of a certain kind. We have actual water flooding places. But beyond that, there’s an energetic flood, a vibrational flood. There are energetic forces set loose in the world that also manifest physically. Yes, there’s a vibrational flood. And what is the answer? A vibrational ark.
What would that be? There are the individual dimensions of it. I’d like to focus on the collective pattern. The vibrational ark is composed of the energetic field we hold with other people. Consider a close relationship with another person. One of the functions of a close relationship with a friend, partner, or spouse is that together with that person you are creating a bubble of energy. It doesn’t have gopher wood planks. That’s what Noah’s Ark was created out of. This ark is created out of love energy. This high-pressure, high-frequency energy holds out the vibrational flood. Without it, we sink. Creativity can transpire within a vibrational ark that can’t happen without it.
A favorite hymn, Let Love Command, speaks of hallowed space. There is hallowed space within the ark. As the hymn says: Let wonders form. Let love come in. Let heaven’s beauty shine. That’s all about what can happen in this field of energy that we have the potential to create with another person.
The collective ark we are forming requires far more than two people. It takes a spiritual body formed by a collective of people who are building the integrity of the vibrational ark consciously together. I think of the building of a wooden ship. Yes, there’s the outer shell of it—the planks. But there has to be a framework upon which the planks are fastened—the ribs. The ribs are fastened to the keel, which runs from bow to stern in the middle of the bottom of the ship. There must be those firm timbers upon which you can build the outer part of the ship.
For us, the equivalent of the ribs and the keel is what holds the vibrational ark stable. Of themselves, they are insufficient to hold out the flood of the world. But without them, there is nothing to hold the structure of the ark. So we must have people whose living creates that structure around which the vibrational ark can form.
Inside the ark there is a high-pressure atmosphere that brings good vibrational weather. Without that atmosphere—with a low-pressure system or a vacuum—the pressures of the world crush the outer shell of the ark. So we, as the people who are creating this vibrational pattern, have to know how to maintain a favorable weather pattern within the ark.
Wouldn’t you want to live within a vibrational field that was life-giving and protective? A place in which love could command and the wonders of life could form? But just because you want it doesn’t mean it’s going to happen. You must build it. And you can’t build it in human strength. The Spirit has to do its work through people who let that happen.
Who wouldn’t want to live within a vibrational ark? Everybody wants an ark—for themselves, for me. But it’s that very I, me, mine attitude that is antithetical to the ark and to building one together. If you just think of two people, the “me” attitude breaks the ark with that other person. If you’re both in it for the “me” of it and not the “we” of it, then there’s not an ark for very long. It is destroyed from the inside. So it is for us collectively. Who wouldn’t want to live among people who experience loving community? But that desire doesn’t make it happen. Something else has to take over.
There has to be a willingness to let something higher than oneself, larger than oneself, live. There has to be a selflessness. It is a bit of a conundrum, yes? To have something for yourself, you have to be selfless. There has to be the priority of allowing the very source of life, the very source of love, to live in your own life and with others. You have to desire it in a selfless way—for other people, for what you’re sharing together, and for the very sake of the beauty of what you’ve touched and the possibility that it can live here.
That kind of selflessness is what overcomes all the little tripwires that break apart the energy field—all the self-centeredness, all the envy, all the fear, all the resentment, all the sense of personal desperation. Something has to overcome all that for the vibrational ark to float. In an ark that floats, perhaps those things are still present somewhere in the human psyche. But they are dominated by the high-pressure system within the ark. And what stops such things from taking over? It’s simply that there is something else that is the priority—that rules the day. Let love command. Let love command here for me and in this space that we share together. Let’s let love command. Let’s let love live here.
How are we doing in this regard? To have a sense of that, you have to hold a vision of what the full-blown reality of the vibrational ark could be. Do you have a sense of the reality of it? Can you feel what it would be like to fully realize this together?
Imagine the knowledge of this, prolific among us. It is front of mind and in the fullness of our hearts. It is shared in a word or a glance, and in the little acts of kindness moment by moment. Imagine the vibrational flood of the world kept out until the waters calm and there is peace in the world, and a white dove flies above the ark telling us that the storm is over.
Now consider the current reality. Do we have work to do to build the ark? Of course we do. Will you build it with me?
Good to be with you, David and others, in the “high-pressure atmosphere” of the vibrational ark, bringing the selflessness that “overcomes all the little tripwires that break apart the energy field.” Yes, the ark is a place of safety in the midst of the energetic flood that is arising on earth, but it is also a beacon of radiant Light inviting storm-tossed humanity to come home to the Truth of Love, the Truth of Being.
