Flock of Angels

David-Karchere_NEW2014.200x243Standing on the precipice of this year
I leap into the unknown darkness
Now lit up with a new sun
and the joy of a fresh cycle of Creation.

Your solar winds
Rush under invisible wings
and I am alive and free
to see the world with Your eyes.

Around me stirs a flock of angels,
a murmuration from a sleeping world,
we rise above the slumber of cities and towns,
soaring on the updraft
of this new year.

Transcending generation, transcending time, transcending age, we are that flock of angels who are here now, and in front of us is the grandest of opportunities. In this moment, it must be about us. Who else would it be about? It’s about us, and any opportunity that’s ever been available to humanity is available to us now in this moment. We could think about other times. We can imagine times in the future. But as the song “O Little Town of Bethlehem” says, The hopes and fears of all the years are met in thee tonight. In this moment, the hopes and fears of all the years are being met in us. We are the flock of angels here for this.

As daunting as the challenges of life and the circumstances of the planet might seem to be, what I know is that for the angelic Being who is present, who is the reality of each of us, there is all the resource that is needed to bring exactly what’s needed right here and now for this victory. This doesn’t guarantee victory, because we could be asleep or half-asleep, but with the presence of the Being that we are and our collective presence, I know there is no challenge so great, no wall so high, there is no difficulty so large and no chasm so deep that we couldn’t cross over and know the victory of Being, the victory of Creation right here and now. Then we can be about using all the events of this coming year, this moment and all the moments to come, and we can use each one to bring the already-existing victory that we know together and the assurance of victory that we know when we are who we are and we are awake to who we are and we are awake with each other. When we are awake in that way we tune into a huge resource, a vast resource of Creation, the power of the Creator, and we stop getting in our own way as individuals and then as a community.

I appreciate the opportunity to invoke what’s true. What I believe is that I’m giving voice to what you know is true and I’m awake enough to be able to give it voice. But I believe we each know this to be true. In some part of ourselves—however deep within or however out-front and blazing in the light of consciousness—we know. I don’t believe I’m telling you anything you don’t know. I just have the privilege of writing these words because I’m awake enough to do so.

I’m so excited and enthusiastic, full of the promise of this coming year and, with kindness and brotherhood and sisterhood and an invitation to co-create, we have this knowing to bring to people around the world without any sense that we’re better than anybody else or that we are trying to take advantage of any situation. And without any motivation other than co-creation. We’re all here to do this together. That’s what makes us willing to undergo whatever learning there is for the little portion of humanity that we ended up taking responsibility for, so that we get the big picture that oneness isn’t just an ideal but it is a reality to be lived and to be known. There are those who came before us who knew this, and we’re tapping into that same knowing and we get to know it and be in it together now. What a privilege and an honor! Good to be together in this.
