Thank you, Keahi (Ewa), for that deep prayer. It is an honor to be here in Tom (Cooper) and Eileen (Flanagan)’s home, where the spirit of this ministry burns bright. Keahi and I have traveled here on Tom’s invitation to attend his musical “Higher! Higher!” that is being performed in Honolulu this afternoon.
This is the final performance of it in a string that has been very well attended. This is a life work, so hats off to Tom. What an accomplishment! Beautiful music carrying the spirit and message of this ministry to the public. We will see where it all goes from here, but what a success thus far.
It is an honor to be here in Hawaii for the first time and to feel the spirit of this place in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. So many things can be felt from here. It is not hard to feel the essence of the Motherland that lives in this people and in the Hawaiian Islands.
Thinking about our service today, I thought, There is really nothing more to be said. And I will end up saying things, I know. But still, I think it was a truthful thought that from one perspective, There is nothing to be said.
There’s nothing to worry about, nothing to fix, nothing to make better or improve, nothing to save. There is something to be. We are here to be—to be together, to know our own Being, the Being of each other and all Being. We are here to be. And then in being, there is something to do and maybe something to say.
There comes a point when, from a human perspective, there is nothing to say. And if there’s nothing to say, we should stop talking—stop talking and be. And in that being is our salvation. Then, from that perspective—from that experience of Being—there is something to manifest, create, and express. But if our expression is not coming from a place of Being, we should stop talking—stop expressing from that place that brings no happiness, no joy, no solution. As much as in that human state we tend to want to fix things, there is no fixing of things from that perspective. There is only creation and re-creation. And with that creation and re-creation is healing and wholeness.
We are here to know that and bring it. Perhaps all this relates to the snake in the grass that Keahi was speaking of. The snake in the grass is our own consciousness out of place, not knowing Being, not knowing that all is well, and that from a place of Being, we are here to create with each other.
There is a veil of separation from Being that is present in human experience, generally speaking. When we are not being ourselves, when we are not sitting on the throne that is rightfully ours to sit upon, we are cast into a state of separation. It is a state of separation from one another, which is frustrating because there are other people in our life, and underneath it all, we are one with those people in Being. And yet, when our consciousness drops, we lose awareness of Being. And therefore, there is a veil between us and an experience of separateness. In that separation, there is a lack of knowledge and understanding of one another. All kinds of awful things follow that in the world in which we live. Without beingness and the understanding of one another, and the knowledge that we are members of one Family of Souls, we drop into misunderstanding, and with that comes blame and accusation.
You know the drill. I do not have to describe it in any great detail. It is all around us, and we have all had some experience of that, however recent.
The veil is a veil of disconnection from all of Being, incarnate and unincarnate. So it includes a veil of separation from Invisible Being—the invisible nature of our own Being, and the invisible nature of all Being. It is a veil of separation from the part of the Family of Souls that is unincarnate, and the focus of the Family of Souls that I referred to in last week’s Pulse of Spirit.
On the inside, we are all brought to focus. We are all together in a focalized pattern on the inside. It could not be more glorious than this—that we are focused in Love on the inside and in a Being of ultimate Love. And yet, as human beings, there can be a veil—a curtain that shuts us off, not only from other people incarnate, but from Invisible Being.
Religion tries to do something about all that, with all kinds of notions about what the problem is for us as human beings and how to fix those problems. There are all kinds of fantastic ideas about how that happens—ideas about salvation, redemption, going to heaven, and on it goes. That is from a Western standpoint. The East has its own methodologies to try to cure the experience of separation—meditation, yoga, and more. But there is no curing the separation by human effort. Separation is just the snake in the grass in human experience. There is nothing to do with that other than to let the veil dissipate and remember Being.
As a kid, I read Superman comics. In them, there was a Phantom Zone, a prison dimension where Kryptonians could banish their most dangerous criminals to a formless, timeless state where they were effectively trapped, neither dead nor alive. When we forget who we are, it is as if we are cast into the Phantom Zone, where all kinds of fantastic things happen in that self-imposed state of separation. It is a house of mirrors. We think we are looking at other Beings, but we are not. We are simply seeing reflections of our own phantom state, a state where the veil is present.
The veil is the opaque human heart. When the heart is opaque, I don’t care what you try to do to remedy the sense of separation—what physical practice, mental practice, or spiritual practice—if the heart is opaque, end of story. You are in the Phantom Zone. Not until something happens in the heart where it turns transparent is there the end of that state as we are released from the bondage of the Phantom Zone.
As someone who apparently has responsibility for a spiritual program, I will tell you, there is no need personally for a spiritual program when the heart is transparent. There is no human effort that could cure the state of being in the Phantom Zone anyway. And as the heart purifies, there is no need for any effort—spiritual, mental, physical, or otherwise. Oneness is known. People are known. In this way, the opportunity for remembrance is brought to the world.
Without effort, I know you—without trying to get to know you, building a bridge, or attempting to be tolerant of our differences. When the heart purifies, there is no veil. There is a state of knowing. I know you. I know you, even if you are in the Phantom Zone. I know myself. I know the God that I love and serve—the invisible nature of Being.
Any human effort is to take the steps that brings one’s own heart into a place of purity and transparency. That is something that transpires over time. And yet, saying that tends to give the impression that it is some kind of laborious, lifelong process. There is something that happens over a lifetime, but transparency is either known now or it’s not known. It doesn’t come from human improvement of any kind. It is a state of Being that we enter. No human effort brings us here.
There are practices that may help. The practice of forgiveness helps. Forgiveness is not what it appears to be. It appears to be a process of somehow forgiving people who have been awful, especially to oneself. Forgiveness is really the realization that the person is being loved by the Divine already before you do anything, and you have the opportunity to get with the program. You have the opportunity to love them as the Divine loves them.
I love the song, “The Blessing,” which is all about the Love that’s being given to all of us from the inside. That is the program. So let’s get with the program of Being. Then we know each other. We know blessing for sure. We know a transparency of heart. The veil comes down because there is forgiving. We are forgiving the blessing.
Gratitude helps awaken the heart. It allows the heart to come to a place of transparency so that it can receive what is already being given. Where there is no gratitude, there is no acknowledgement of what is being given already, and a striving for what seems to be lacking.
Gratitude is a realization, as occurred to Jacob long ago: And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the LORD is in this place; and I knew it not. (Genesis 28:16)
As I remember, I know I am in a place where blessing is constant. It is constantly coming to me and to all people. It is easy to get with the program—the program of blessing and the awareness of Being. That is the reality in which we live. And yet, we live in a world where there has been a colossal forgetting, until it has come to the place where the assumption is that that’s the natural state. The Phantom Zone is natural. Separation from Being is natural.
We are here to say, That ain’t natural, folks. That is not our natural state of being. And if that’s where you are coming from, stop talking. Stop coming from that place. Stop expressing from that place. Start speaking from the place of Being. Speak the blessing. Speak the truth of who we are. Claim that for yourself. We are one people, in one place, here and now.
The waters of our Being, which includes the waters of the heart, are drawn together into one place. No human effort can do that. It cannot be done by someone in the Phantom Zone. From that perspective, this is all gobbledygook. What are you talking about, the gathering together of the waters? From the standpoint of Being, we have the powers of the Creator working through us. These are the Creator’s waters, after all—the waters of consciousness, including the waters of heart, belong to the Creator.
And so, when the veil is dissolved, the Creator speaks through us and acts through us to gather the waters of consciousness into one place. These are the waters of power through which the voice of Love can speak. We have heard that voice today through our friends because our waters are gathered together, and through those waters ripples the vibration of the Creator, the voice of the Creator, the vibration of Supreme Love. The light of truth that illuminates this space allows us to see each other, to see and know Being.
Keahi shared a sacred site with me yesterday on the north shore of Oahu. The veil relates to time as well as space. In that sacred space, there were the remnants of a temple. I could feel the worship of people through the ages, and the veil that separates us from the past lifted.
It was easy to hear the voices of the Motherland speaking in that place. I would not trust any human effort to bring any such experience. But when the veil is no longer present, there it is. The truth coming out of our past is present.
It is easy to have that experience here. I think many people do to some degree. They feel the essence of something in Hawaii. It is carried in the culture, the land, and the ocean. That is true wherever we are. When we release ourselves from the Phantom Zone, the veil is lifted. There is a transparency of heart that lets us see and know. We are no longer jailed within the walls of our own limited consciousness.
HOWARD GOODMAN: Thank God for Hawaii. Thank God for that which evokes and assists a return to this place together. I know you, you know me, we know each other from before time and in time when we are not controlled or dominated by the Phantom Zone.
So good to do this work of calling for the liberation of consciousness that is imprisoned because of the veil of distortion and, actually, the deflection of the true power. So, thank you for bringing the power of the waters to us. We do have and inherit truly the powers of the Creator because we live in the transparency of one name, one reality of Being. And it’s good to claim that. It doesn’t come if you are indifferent to it. It takes a real appetite to be liberated and then to claim that victory on behalf of our fellow mariners. Thank you so much.
PATRICIA GURSU: Thank you, David. How good to feel the Motherland through your words and all that’s been presented from the place that I love so much.
It is in the knowing and the remembering of who we are that we provide such a potent spirit into the world to call our brothers and sisters home to the remembrance of who they truly are and what awake people bring in this time together.
It is a crucial, critical time on Earth. There is much forgetting. But it is in the remembering of the beauty of who we are and what we bring that we know the spirit, the power, and the authority of Source.
I loved the analogy of the Phantom Zone it’s a great description of the human condition that has sort of taken the Planet and it’s people by Storm. In the Lord of Love Series I was reminded of the Superman Archetype somehow where what can often seem like the supernatural aspect of a human being is revealed. Life Has supernatural characteristics and they are all around us and as you said within us, just being alive is a supernatural thing even in the phantom Zone. But there is more to us than that as a planetary race of supernatural beings. Coming into a place of Gratitude and blessing brings the essences the evidence and the awareness of that experience and the vast potential long forgotten in a culture of what once was, what is now, and what shall be of the very beautiful and powerful presence Life, in its fullness can be in human experience. Thanks!
There’s nothing to worry about, nothing to fix, nothing to make better or improve, nothing to save. There is something to be. We are here to be—to be together, to know our own Being, the Being of each other and all Being. We are here to be. And then in being, there is something to do and maybe something to say.
So beautiful and in its own way – so sweet – the sweetness of the awareness of how we are meant to be here together – and we are truly here for each other….
