The Source Code of All Life

                  Jerusalem

And did those feet in ancient time
Walk upon Englands mountains green:
And was the holy Lamb of God,
On Englands pleasant pastures seen!

And did the Countenance Divine,
Shine forth upon our clouded hills?
And was Jerusalem builded here,
Among these dark Satanic Mills?

Bring me my Bow of burning gold:
Bring me my arrows of desire:
Bring me my Spear: O clouds unfold!
Bring me my Chariot of fire!

I will not cease from Mental Fight,
Nor shall my sword sleep in my hand:
Till we have built Jerusalem,
In Englands green & pleasant Land.

                           William Blake

Yesterday has gone, as the song says, and we are here to seize this moment, this opportunity, this time. And for what?

We all have the unalienable right to create. We are here to seize that right, to seize this moment and claim our birthright as creators.

And how do we create? We could attempt to create out of purely human devisings. That isn’t creative, in my experience. It is highly apt to go wrong. Real creation happens when we open up to the pattern of Creation that is somewhere within ourselves and all things, in the invisible realms of Being. To truly create, we tune in to those realms and to the pattern of Creation and allow it to find expression through our conscious awareness, our actions, and through our words and deeds in the world. Only so can New Jerusalem be builded here, in England, or anyplace else.

This poem, Jerusalem, put to music in a song, is so moving. I’ve found that it can quickly move British people to tears. And me too.

The song proposes the possibility that after Jesus came forth from the tomb, he came to England to build New Jerusalem in England. What a thought from William Blake! I do not know about the history, but it moves me deeply that British people envision that possibility, and that Camelot could have been here, and that Brigadoon might come to life in this part of the world.

Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estés hosts seminars at Sunrise Ranch. She once told me that she tells her students that Sunrise Ranch is Brigadoon. It is Brigadoon for them because it is as if it wakes up once a year when they return to Sunrise Ranch for conferences. Of course, we are there all year! But for the people who visit, it is Brigadoon—it awakens out of an invisible place for them.

In the Book of Revelation, John speaks about seeing New Jerusalem coming down from God out of heaven. I take this as his way of saying that there is an invisible pattern that he saw. I, John, saw it, he says, and he described it as best he could to his readers. And how else would you describe something invisible—something that has no physical form—except through some kind of poetry?

He said it is made out of a gold-like clear glass. There were twelve gates to the city and a street of gold.

There was no need of sun or moon for illumination because the glory of God illuminated the city.

John was in awe. And did his best to inspire us to see something invisible and have it become so real for us that it could come into our awareness and manifest as an actual city, as a real-world in physical form.

This was New Jerusalem, the invisible pattern of Creation that we have the opportunity to know. And we have the opportunity to create out of this invisible pattern because we are so surrendered to it that it enters our awareness. When it does, it can manifest here where we are, in ways that are right in the world in which we live. It takes a total surrender so that it might come through.

There is the Old City of Jerusalem. I had the opportunity to stay within its walls in 1969. It was a place of crowded, smelly markets, and people in conflict. Young boys threw rocks at me at dusk and a priest held out his hand for money in the tomb within the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.

Israel had just seized East Jerusalem from Jordan two years prior in the Six Day War. Tensions were high, as they are today, and you often saw Israeli soldiers walking the streets.

This is Old Jerusalem, full of magic and wonder, yet conflict and bitterness pervade its streets.

Old Jerusalem is the culture of the world as it is, full of broken puzzle pieces that don’t seem to fit together in a harmonious whole.

Old Jerusalem is built out of the attempt to create from human invention alone, without reference to the holy city, coming down from God out of heaven. It always goes awry in the end. There is corruption in it because it does not refer to what is whole, holy, and wholesome—the true pattern of Creation that is within all people and all things. And so, how could Old Jerusalem not corrupt the true pattern of Creation and create disaster in the human experience? This is what happens when human culture relates only to itself, without reference to New Jerusalem.

The disaster that results leaves a long-lasting impact on the human experience. The effect of suffering is great. It creates karma generated from the suffering. This kind of karma is a body of pain at all levels of human experience—painful thoughts, painful feelings, and pain in the physical body. And then something else happens. Not only are we referencing all our humanly devised plans to build a world without reference to the pattern of Creation, but we also tend to reference the pain body we are experiencing. And so, we lose touch with the reality on the other side of it all, the source code of Creation that is available to you and me. It is there for every person and for all of us as humankind. New Jerusalem is the source code of Creation.

We seem to be caught in never-ending variants of coronavirus, and as soon as we create a vaccine for the latest variant, a new one appears that goes even more viral than the last. So there is all the concern about public health—concern for the health of the physical body, the emotional body, and the mental body. There are all kinds of external remedies for public health—vaccines, drugs, and even more natural ones like nutrition, proper sleep, and exercise. They all have their place—there is a time and a place for everything. And still, what is the ultimate remedy for our public ill-health?

It is the source code of Creation, which is the source code for a man or a woman, the pattern of our Being, and the design for the makeup of humankind. That is the source code for our public health and our public wholeness. It creates a vibrational pattern in human experience when it comes through, in which health can thrive. This is the answer—New Jerusalem, new consciousness, a new pattern in heart and mind, new vibrational pattern, and a new physical pattern. This is how health is reestablished in human experience as we no longer reference the pattern of pain, the old karma. The old karma is there, and the pain hangs around for a while. But we are not referencing that as the source code for our life experience. We are referencing the real source code, the holy city within us. We are letting that come through.

That is the basis for Attunement. We can share an Attunement, and that is a beautiful thing to do. But we could also simply allow the source code to enter our own vibrational pattern and the vibrational pattern we share with others.

Animals know about that. Have you ever been around a sick animal, perhaps a sick dog or cat? If you are bringing the source code through, they like to stay around. They want to be in your vibrational pattern. They know, maybe better than us, what is good for them.

Perhaps there are physical remedies to administer to the pet—we should never be too spiritual to pay attention to practical remedies. But still, there is the vibrational remedy, the source code in expression vibrationally, in the energy field, in which we all thrive—pets and human beings and all forms of life. That field is available when our consciousness is right, when it is transparent, when it is open, and when it welcomes the holy city to come down from God out of heaven into consciousness.

Present-day Jerusalem is filled with the karma of three of the world’s great religions. That karma is attached to the people of the Middle East and people around the world. There is so much water under the bridge and enough pain to go around for all concerned. There is a lot of embedded relationship to the pain, and with that comes patterns of revenge that never stop. Hardly anyone seems to think to go back to the source code of all humanity. That source code is the birthright of all those faiths and all those people. In it is the wholeness to which we all belong.

Here is part of the story of that wholeness. In ancient days, there came a time when the Jewish people were dragged off to present-day Iraq, in what was called Babylon. Shortly after that, the Persian people conquered the Babylonians—in what is modern-day Iraq. And not long after that, the Persians sponsored the Jewish people to reestablish their culture in Jerusalem.

Modern-day scholars sometimes attribute that to commercial interest, and perhaps that was in the mix for the Persians. But there is also a record of honor and appreciation for the truth that the Jewish people were carrying and a desire to let that truth live in the world. And so, the Persians backed the Jewish people to reenter Jerusalem and helped them rebuild the Temple there, a Temple which celebrates New Jerusalem, the source code of all life.

So today, I call upon all modern-day Persians, who we know as the Iranian people, to remember this story—why they did what they did and what they were honoring; to remember their kinship with the Jewish people. And I call upon Jewish people worldwide and in Israel to remember who put them back in Jerusalem, who sponsored them to be there, and why. I call upon them to remember their commitment in being there, which was reestablished long ago, and the debt of gratitude that they owe to the Iranian people for what they did.

On this day, let all old karma pass from the face of the earth. Let the old heaven and the old earth pass away, in favor of New Jerusalem, the new pattern of Creation—always fresh, continually regenerating. Let it come down from the invisible into the experience of us all. And may all people on the face of the planet surround with love the miracle that is transpiring. We are remembering our birthright, our kinship among all people, and the one true source code above us all, our birthright as humankind. It is a code of oneness, unity, individuality, and diversity within that unity, to be respected around the globe.

I claim the birthright of creatorship here and now, and I seize this moment to let it be real for us and let the vibrational pattern born of the source code of all life be known again on earth.

What do you claim for yourself?
