I have been traveling to British Columbia for about 25 years, often several times a year, to be a part of what is transpiring in our ministry there. Early on in that time, I visited our Edenvale Centre. There had been a dissolution of the Emissary community at 100 Mile House, and we were establishing the center of our activities at Edenvale.
I was attempting to be inspiring in the process, and I was speaking about all that was available to be created and looking to bring my own excitement and connect with the excitement of others.
As it turned out, there were a number of people who were reaching their senior years. They had contributed greatly to the previous cycle. I was not trying to get people to work harder, but apparently that is how it came across to them. So the response came back, You are asking us to work harder! No more hard work!
Human consciousness can see the next step in Creation as something that is going to be burdensome for the human being. And on that basis, people deny themselves the opportunity to do something wonderful.
And of course, then as now and as always, yes, there is work to do. I appreciate people who work hard. I appreciate Steve Lange, who has been here lending a hand at Sunrise over the last several weeks. And many of us contribute to the endeavors at Sunrise Ranch. And that is all wonderful. And yet, the larger matter is what is being undertaken spiritually — the Attunement that is being known and shared, the spirituality that is being brought to the world because of that Attunement, the opportunity we present to others, and the truthfulness of what we bring.
So how do we respond when life itself is asking something more of us? No more hard work? Or I am not going there?
There can be a response out of our human nature of saying no to what we are called to. And when there are walls in front of us, they can stop us. There the wall is, and we back off and go some other way. We are called to go through the wall. Walking through the wall is not a matter of working harder; it is a matter of saying yes to what Life is asking of us.
Many of us are familiar with a little booklet we publish. You can talk to Linda Moore if you would like a copy. It is called Through to Victory. And it is taken from an Attunement class that Uranda gave in the early 1950s, and the well-known, oft-quoted line from it is, If walls can stop you, you will be stopped. He encourages people to not walk around the wall, not walk back from it, but to walk right through the wall.
We are all called to do that — all of us individually, unless you are living a very different life than mine. We are called to go past the things that would stop us. Past the walls, however you want to speak of them, past the ceilings we bump our heads against, past any way that we have said no to life.
There is a promised land for every person, and we are called to that promised land, and we are called to keep moving until we find ourselves having that experience. Saying no keeps us in the desert.
The song I wrote that we shared earlier is called Forever Love. Given that it was bluegrass, I liked the ring of those words. But beyond that, there is the spirit of Life that is powered by Love. That is forever life, it is undying life, it never stops. It never stops and it never stops talking to us and never stops calling to each one of us. That is true for me, and I am betting that is true for you. And what is it saying? What is the undying life in us saying?
I think it can go like this. If I had had my wits about me at the time back at Edenvale, maybe I would have said it to people there. I know what you have done. You have done all these good things, you have accomplished all these things. You have made something of yourselves and served others. I know what you have done, but what would you not do? What is the thought you would not think? What is the vision you would not entertain in your mind and heart? Where would you not go? What would you not rise above? Where would you not say yes?
That is relevant for me. And I work on the principle that we are all more or less made the same. That is what allows me to speak up here. I make that grand assumption that the factors that are constellating in my own humanity are not that different from yours.
Science says that from a genetic standpoint, we are 99.9% the same. But it is not just our genetics. In so many ways, we are made out of the same stuff. Yes, we are diverse and unique. And yet some of those underlying dynamics are true for all of us. And then they are true for us collectively.
If we think of humanity as a whole, where will humanity not go? Sometimes you hear all the cacophony of voices. You just want to go, Stop, stop! Where will we not go? To the place that is beyond all that.
On Wednesday, I was addressing how human consciousness tends to see culture and then the outer world of form as reality. What you see on the television is reality. What the government is doing is reality. Social media is reality.
You can well say, We will see about that. But here we have human consciousness believing in the outer form of the human experience.
Jesus of Nazareth taught people to stand on the rock of Reality. And what is the rock? The rock is something ineffable and invisible. You cannot see it. It is spiritual. That is the rock.
We are here to live in such a way that we go through the ceiling that we might face in life, rise above the ceiling so that we can become aware of the rock, become aware that there is a rock to relate to, the rock of Reality.
And at some point, if we move through that ceiling and we give expression to the Reality that we have touched and let it live in our life and let it express to other people and to the world, we find there is nothing so convincing as expressing an invisible reality and giving it form and letting it take shape in your life.
Then our little old brain says, Oh, it must be real because I am giving it expression. I am embodying it. I am sharing it with other people. It is not just up there someplace. No, it is here. And guess what? I am the rock. And I am bringing that rock to my community, to my family, to my friends, to the world in which I live.
We are here as Emissaries of Divine Light to bring the rock of Reality to the world. It is not going to happen if we do not move through the wall that presents itself in our life. There is no shame in facing a wall, no shame in facing a ceiling. Yet Uranda was so brilliant in his advice of what to do. Walk through the wall. Do not believe in the wall. Walk through it. Live Reality.
All the limitations we thought we faced get blasted to smithereens when we walk through the wall: the limitations we see in the world in which we live, in the other people who seem to impinge upon us and keep us from knowing undying life, and all the things inside ourselves that feel so convincing and seem to hold us back.
We prove something else. We know something else. We become something else.
I am not suggesting we lose track of our humanity. We all have our own human being that we look after, which we call ourselves. So, we need to look after our human being — our human capacities and all that we go through. But we can be unafraid and unabashed as we go through the wall, go through the ceiling, think the thought we would not think, have the dream we would not entertain, and live into that dream, knowing that dream, expressing that dream, realizing that it is real.
There is a reality we have the opportunity to touch and know and then express and embody. Until we do, you have your walls and I have mine. It is the state of the world.
It is the state of the world in the political arena. We are coming up on an election. You look at one politician and then the other. Sometimes you might think, You are all crazy. That is not quite true. They are not all the same. I do not mean to imply that they are. And there are people of vision and integrity who show up from time to time. But there is a lot of argument that goes back and forth in the world of unreality, in the world of walls, in the world of separation, and in the world of people with stunted spiritual growth. Is that not what we are looking at? In some cases, it is so extreme that it is undeniable. There is some kind of stunted growth, emotionally and spiritually. Spiritually mature people do not act like that. We have the opportunity to know something different, to say yes to the undying spirit of Life and walk through that wall.
Is anybody facing a wall today? We are not going to do anything about the external factors of that wall right now, whatever they might be. But we can do something about the vibration. We can do something about the state of consciousness involved.
There is that wall. It seems real, blocking our way forward, blocking our liberation, blocking the fulfillment of our lives right now. I suppose we could all stand up and take a physical step to make it real in our bodies. But I think that just in your own heart and mind, you can walk through that wall right now.
And we can all agree, it is not stopping us. And you have everything you need, I have everything I need to walk through that wall and live in liberty, live in Reality. Know the power of Reality, which is the power of the creative spirit that is in you and in me and in all of us together.
We just need to walk through that wall. Feel it. Feel what it is like to walk through the wall and be liberated. Now. Which is the only time it can happen. It cannot happen tomorrow. The only time it ever happens is right now.
Good to walk through the wall with you.
